Summer Enrichment Classes and Sports Camps

Once again this year District #106 will offer tuition based summer school enrichment classes and sports camps. Details of program offerings and required forms can be found by clicking Class Overview, Class Description, Emergency Form and Registration Form. The registration and emergency forms must be submitted with your payment by mail or in person to the District Administration Office, 1750 W. Plainfield Road, LaGrange, IL 60525. There is still time to submit your PTC Wish List application! The form can be found under the PTC section of the district website. The deadline is this Friday, February 26. Please remember to submit your application first to either school principal for initial approval.

Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting

The Certificate of Excellence Program

"ASBO International established the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting (COE) Program to encourage and recognize excellence in school system comprehensive annual financial reports (CAFRs). The primary program objective is to promote high-quality financial reporting through the preparation of a CAFR. Experienced accounting professionals with a background in governmental accounting and auditing developed the program guidelines based upon specific standards established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB)".

Accountability

"The purpose of the financial statements is to report on the financial position and operations of the school system. The CAFR enables school business officials to educate the school board and the public about the status of a school system's finances. Preparing and presenting a CAFR validates the credibility of the school system's operations, measures the integrity and technical competence of the business staff, assists in strengthening presentations for bond issuance statements, and provides professional recognition".

Credibility

"Through the COE Program, ASBO publicly acknowledges a superior CAFR by issuing the prestigious Certificate of Excellence Award to school systems that meet the guidelines of the program. Receiving the Certificate of Excellence Award gives a superintendent and school board confidence about their school system and its business management staff. Receiving the award has also meant stronger investor confidence and a positive impact on debt issuance for many school systems".

LaGrange Highlands District 106 is one of only 59 school districts and community colleges in the State of Illinois to receive this award for the 2007-08 school year. District 106 has received this honor every year since the 2003-2003 school year.
