The District 106 Educational Foundation is committed to involving the entire community in the enrichment of educational programs at Highlands School.

Some of the many projects funded since 1996 are:

Campus Improvements (Fitness Equipment) Sound System for Middle School Gymnasium Funding for Middle School Newspaper Team-Building Field Trip for 7th & 8th Graders to Irons Oaks Highlands CARES community outreach program Art Grundke Scholarship (for a Former Highlands Student at High School Graduation) Dr. Elise Grimes Scholarship (for a Former Highlands Student at High School Graduation) Author/Poet-In-Residence for 3rd Grade Start-Up Funding for Elementary & Middle School Stores Ceiling Mounted LCD Projectors CPR / First Aid Instructional Program for Highlands staff and Grades 6-8

Elementary School Homework Club Service Club for Grades 4-5 Advocate for Kids (Program to Increase At-Risk Student Social Skills) Computer Class for Seniors in Our Area Sports Fields/Track Refurbishment Automated External Defibrillators Funding for After-School Computer Club for 4th and 5th grade students Educational programs of Parent Network Cardio Training Equipment for Middle School Yearbook Training Music-in-Education (Keyboard Learning Package) An After-School Fun-in (Fitness Program for Elementary Students)

Grant Info

Grant requests must be submitted by the Friday before Spring Break (3/20/09) to be considered. Teacher Enrichment requests are due by April 30. Please submit grant requests to the Foundation mailbox in the Administration Office.
