The new school year is right around the corner! You can now download school supply lists and student registration forms, as well as make online payment of fees, simply by visiting our Registration Page. Expedite the registration process by filling out forms and paying fees in the comfort of your own home. 

Registration forms must still be turned into the appropriate school office.  Check on the various options and dates for doing so at the bottom of the Registration Page.

UPDATED (7/8/10): We currently only have a few desktop eMacs left. We are sold out of the MacBooks and iBooks.

There are still eMacs and MacBooks available.  Come to the Administration Office off of Plainfield on Tuesday, July 6 between 9 AM and 3 PM if you are interested in purchasing one.  Updates will be posted here as supplies run out.

There will be three configurations of computer for sale each with the following minimum specifications.

1. eMac 1.42 GHz with a 80GB, 512 MB RAM hard drive and combination DVD reader/CD writer - $50 each

2.  MacBook 2.0 GHz Core2Duo, 1 GB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive, 
DVD reader/CD writer - $375 each

On June 30th, 2010 District 106 will be offering used desktop computers for sale. The schedule for the sale will be:

8:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. - District Residents Only. You must bring proof of residence in the district to purchase during this time.

10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. - If there are computers left, open sale to the public. Notice will be posted on the District 106 website at http://www.district106.net with information about remaining machines.

There is a limit of one laptop and one desktop computer purchased per household during each sale period. District residents who wish to purchase more than one of each may return in the afternoon session if they wish.

There will be three configurations of computer for sale each with the following minimum specifications.

1. eMac 1.42 GHz with a 80GB, 512 MB RAM hard drive and combination DVD reader/CD writer - $50 each

2. iBook 1.33 GHz, 512MB RAM and with a 40GB hard drive and a combination DVD reader/CD writer - $75 each

3.  MacBook 2.0 GHz Core2Duo, 1 GB RAM, 120GB Hard Drive,
DVD reader/CD writer - $375 each

Elementary SchoolEvent Announcements: 2010 Hornets Buzz For Beds - June 4th

Get ready, get set, get psyched!!  From 10am - noon on June 4th the 2010 school year is going out with a Buzzzzzz!  Highlands students are invited to an end-of-year celebration and fundraising event with all proceeds being donated to the LaGrange based homeless shelter, BEDS PLUS.  The fun will include a dunk tank, cakewalk, and watermelon eating contest, as well as other carnival games.  You can “BUZZ” your head at the event along with Mr. Mike Papierski and others to raise money for the homeless.  Come watch or come participate and have a great time with your classmates to kick off summer vacation!  Students interested in participating in the BUZZ should return these forms to their school office by May 28th!

Community ConnectionEvent Announcements: Barbara Coloroso - Teaching Kids to Think and Act Ethically

Internationally recognized author and speaker Barbara Coloroso will deliver a presentation, entitled “Just Because It’s Not Wrong Doesn’t Make It Right - From Toddlers to Teens, Teaching Kids to Think and Act Ethically,”  Tuesday, January 19, 7pm, at the Lyons Township High School North Campus Reber Center. Coloroso is an expert in the areas of parenting, teaching, positive school climate and nonviolent conflict resolution. Her hour-long presentation is geared for educators, parents/guardians, and community members. Admission is free. 
 
The presentation will focus on raising kids who have the courage to stand up for others and against injustice, who care deeply, share generously, and help willingly. She will address the three characters in the bully circle and what families can do to help kids break the cycle of violence.
