Essential Learning Targets
Essential Learning Targets are expectations for what we want students to know and be able to do by the end of the school year in each grade level in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Please note that these targets are not all that is taught in a content area at the grade level but are what we expect students will master by the end of the school year. Learning in each grade level provides the foundation for Learning Targets in future grade levels. The Learning Targets will continue to be a "work in progress" as we change and refine our expectations over time. We hope parents will find the Learning Targets useful by knowing year-end expectations. We will be encouraging students to take responsibility for their own learning by monitoring their progress and developing plans to reach mastery of the Learning Targets. Please contact your child's teacher if you have specific questions regarding Learning Targets in a grade level or content area. Spotlight on the Classroom
