A Message from the Superintendent

LaGrange Highlands School District 106 serves the communities of Countryside, LaGrange, LaGrange Highlands, Indian Head Park, and Western Springs in its two schools located in the same building--Highlands Elementary (PreK - 4) and Highlands Middle (5-8). We have approximately 940 amazing students and a talented and committed staff of 120.

Highlands provides a rich, comprehensive curriculum aligned with Illinois standards, augmented by a multitude of enrichment opportunities.

In these challenging times, District 106 remains committed to our foundational principles focused on student growth, learning that is both rigorous and relevant, and creative, innovative problem-solving.

In 2020, the District completed work on a comprehensive strategic plan to guide our long-term and short-term work. Our improvement work is focused on 5 critical areas that support student performance:

  • Student growth and achievement
  • Learning culture
  • Professional culture
  • Resources
  • Partnerships

I invite you to explore our website and learn more about the dynamic learning environment we’ve created for the students and families we serve.

Sincerely yours,

John Munch

Superintendent
