7th Grade Math: Ending the Year on a Tiny House
What do you do when there are just a few days left in Math Class? Design a tiny house of course! Students in Mrs. Curran's 7th Grade Math Class finish the year strong with creating a blueprint of their unique tiny house, go on a no budget shopping spree, discover the cost of flooring and decking, calculate tax and simple interest, and select a location.
4th Grade Paper Roller Coasters
The fourth graders did an amazing job on their paper roller coasters this year in science. They worked extremely hard building their foundation, tracks and creating an appealing theme. They had to work through fighting gravity and friction. They had to use their problem solving skills to remedy track issues to compete with the other classes for the longest marble ride. All five fourth grade classes knocked their themes out of the ball park. Way to go fourth graders!!
Ending the Year in Song!
Chorus ended the year strong with a wonderful Spring Choral Concert last Thursday and a "Superior" performance-rating at the Music in the Parks Festival on Saturday. Congratulations on a great year of singing!

6th Grade Students Test Gravity
This past week in Science, 6th graders have been studying all things gravity. We discussed past astronomers, like Aristotle, Galileo and Newton, who contributed ideas to the topic of gravity. We tested their theories in some fun ways- we proved some correct and showed the errors in others. Ask your student about our gravity demonstrations! This week we completed a virtual lab that allowed us to test how the variables of mass and distance impact the force of gravity! It was a challenging lab but students really ‘forced’ themselves to complete it! (haha pun intended 🤣 ) It was also a great review of independent and dependent variables. Our upcoming topics include galaxies, life cycle of a star, and a scaled Solar System model project. Be on the lookout for more updates!
