Negotiations: LaGrange Highlands Board and Teachers’ Union Reach Tentative Agreement
Published by Mr. Dearborn on Feb 12, 2020

The LaGrange Highlands School District 106 Board of Education and the Highlands Association of Teachers (HAT) have tentatively agreed to terms of a 5-year contract (2019-2024). Contract discussions had resumed on January 22, and earlier this evening, the negotiating teams met to finalize a few remaining items.

We want to thank our parents and the LaGrange Highlands community for your patience and support over this past year. We acknowledge that a process like this may at times feel challenging, especially when we strive to remain confidential regarding many of the details. We have been grateful for the community’s support and encouragement to continue working together, and this has allowed our students to continue learning without interruption.

Both the Board and the HAT will now hold votes to approve the terms of the agreement. Once this has occurred, the full contract will be made available for public release. The District 106 Board, administration, and teachers look forward to continue working together to maximize the quality of education in, and the fiscal stability of, District 106.
