Dear Highlands Community,
Highlands schools will be open for in-person attendance on Tuesday, January 16th. Please review these important details:
- Please make every effort to drive your child to school or carpool with another family.
- Students should not walk to school without being accompanied by an adult.
- Students will be able to enter any door that is typically open during student arrival. Staff will be at the doors starting at 8:10.
- Due to the increased number of students being dropped off and the process likely taking longer than usual, the student arrival window will be extended by 10 minutes. Students dropped off any time between 8:20-8:40 will not be considered tardy.
- During dismissal, students will remain inside the school until their ride arrives. Students will not be allowed to walk home on their own. We know this will cause the dismissal process to take longer, so please be patient as we employ this strategy to ensure students are not outside longer than needed.
- If your child is not in attendance due to the temperature, it will be considered an excused absence. Please be sure to call the office and report all absences.
- Students brought their school-assigned computers and iPads home on Thursday. Please be sure they bring those devices and their musical instruments to school tomorrow.
